Chito olivencia on puerto ricans/latinos mayoral appointments in the brown administration

July 14, 2010

Chito Olivencia sat down with the Latin Journal Blog from the Barrio six months ago to discuss appointments from the Puerto Rican/Latino community in Brown administration. Vacancies in key posts from Police Commissioner to the Buffalo Fire Department opened up seven months ago when Mayor Byron  W. Brown did some house cleaning. The interview still has relevancy in the aftermath of the latest appointments.  Brown has continued the political tradition of overlooking Puerto Rican/Latinos for any commissioner post even creating one for Keven Helfer who is now in the newly created position of  Commissioner of the Parking Department.
