Alvin Greene indicted

August 13, 2010

Alvin Greene, former nominee for Senate in South Carolina

He graduated  with a degree in political science  from the University of South Carolina in 2000, served in the Army,  the Army and Air Force national guards,  and granted the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Korean Defense Service Medal.

Yet, his claim to fame rapidly reported in all the newspapers and  internet sites world-wide when he garnered the votes of  more than 100,000 South Carolinians on June 8th, winning nearly 60 percent of the vote and  trouncing, Vic Rawl, former judge and a four-term state legislator for the Democratic nomination as a US Senator in South Carolina.

And,  they all wanted him out of the race from the  state’s Democratic Party chairman who asked him to  withdraw from the general election to the  House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.) ,calling for federal and state investigations.

But ,  Alvin Greene  , U.S. Senate candidate is a felon  today Friday, August 13th, indicted  on pornography charges, involving  a South Carolina college student.

And the saga of the 32-year-old unknown African-American who outwitted and successfully won the Democratic primary for a Senate seat earlier in June  with less than $200 dollars to the chagrin of the Democratic establishment in South Carolina sadly ended.
