Election 2010: Mayor Brown to be or not to be, that is the question or is it?
Whatever happened to the prominent African-American elected officials who called a press conference Friday in front of the Fireman Park downtown to endorsed Amherst business woman Sundra L. Ryce for the Chairperson of the Erie County Democratic Party?
They never showed up to nominate her yesterday at the reorganization meeting of the Erie Country Democratic Committee at Hearthstone Manor in Cheektowaga where 1000 members showed up to support and endorse Chairman Len Lenihan.
Many folks have been left scratching their heads wondering what happened the threesome Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown, Erie County Legislature Chairwoman Barbara Miller-Williams and Assemblywoman Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes and Ms. Ryce missed the opportunity to nominate her.
Lenihan was so happy he extended an invitation to Ms. Ryce to join the party and plans to telephone her on Monday as one of the first things he does as the continuing Chairman of the Erie County Democratic Party.
Political pundits and others in the media don’t believe the time is a good one to shake up anything as the Republicans are closing in on the Democrats to gain control of Albany especially after Carl Paladino candidacy for governor catapulted on primary day.
