144th assembly seat an Irish legacy

Two Irishmen duking it out for the 144th Assembly seat Sam Hoyt vacated after he moved to a higher salaried post in the Gov. Andrew Cuomo administration, continuing the 37 year-old Irish political legacy  in the district.

So it’s Democrat Sean M. Ryan against  Republican Sean P. Kipp though  Ryan is the favorite one among the Puerto Rican constituents in the  144th district. Yet the race would have been an  interesting one if a Latino had competed as well since it’s a growing population.
