Rodriguez to leave Brown administration
The acting corporation counsel David Rodriguez is leaving the Brown administration in March for a position at the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority.
Members of the Brown administration indicated in the media he had asked to go to the position at BMHA. He had been previously rejected as the corporation attorney for the City of Buffalo by the Buffalo Common Council because he attempted to challenge Councilman David Rivera for a committee member position.
His departure leaves the Brown administration devoid of any Puerto Ricans in top policy positions.
This lack of a Puerto Rican presence in the Brown administration has troubled many in the Puerto Rican community. No Latinos were appointed in the Brown administration beyond the positions of only directors.
This is going to be a problem for Brown if he seeks a third term. His only top level appointment was when he appointed Betty Calvo Torres to a vacancy in City Court.
